wpbdp_is_numeric_sort

Heads up!
This article contains PHP code and is intended for developers. We offer this code as a courtesy, but don't provide support for code customizations or 3rd party development.

When sorting listings on the front-end, there are two ways to treat a value as a number. First, you can edit the field settings and set it to validate as a decimal. If you need a more flexible way of setting if the field is a number, you can use this hook.

Usage

add_filter( 'wpbdp_is_numeric_sort', 'change_bd_numeric_sort', 10, 2 );

Parameters

  • $is_numeric (bool)
  • $field (WPBDP_Form_Field object)

Examples

Sort a specific field as a number

add_filter( 'wpbdp_is_numeric_sort', 'change_bd_numeric_sort', 10, 2 );
function change_bd_numeric_sort( $is_numeric, $field ) {
  if ( $field->get_id() === 3 ) {
    $is_numeric = true;
  }
  return $is_numeric;
}

Change Log

Added in version 5.9
