PDM mark applied by copyright holder
[edit]Hello Josve05a. I've uploaded 83 files from the Brazilian Ministry of Defense's Flickr account to Category:Operação Atlas (2025). Once they were uploaded, I noticed all of them used the Public Domain Mark instead of a proper CC license as usually applied by that account. If I do nothing, there will soon be a deletion request, the account's official status will be confirmed (it's linked to in the Ministry's main page) and the issue will be resolved - same situation as this deletion request . However, this is a needlessly slow and contentious solution. Is there a better way to handle this?
I've refrained from just manually editing each file, both because it's a lot of repetitive work and because I'm following the other deletion request to see what happens. Ideally a bot would handle the edits. But in this case, 1) is it possible for this bot to automatically repeat this process for any further PDM files from this account, and 2) who is the right person I should be asking this to? I've contacted you because you're on the list of PD reviewers.
Yours sincerely, Serraria (talk) 19:03, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- I'm sure that the Flickr license review bot could be set up to do this for specific listed Flickr accounts (such as the ones listed in User:Fæ/code/PD-USGov) as part of the license review phase, but I'm not sure. Perhaps a better place to ask is at COM:Flickr files. --Jonatan Svensson Glad (talk) 19:20, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
File:Konferensprogram Real Estate Øresund 3 feb. 2016 (23605061780).jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |
